Gorwelion : Horizons

PinkGorwelionHorizons

The Horizons partnership was developed ahead of WOMEX 13, Cardiff, bringing together England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales to celebrate the wealth of our music traditions and cultures within a world music market.

The name Horizons comes from the welcoming words of poet Gwyneth Lewis on the front of Wales Millennium Centre "Creu gwir fel gwydr o ffwrnais awen / In these stones horizons sing". This expresses something about the partnership’s shared ambition to develop and broaden their musicians’ horizons.

By working together, these nations are better able to support individual talent to reach new, international markets by sharing resources, information and stages. Practically, the partners will coordinate presence at selected world and folk showcase and trade events.
